I see adverts all over the Internet offering to submit my site to 1000’s of search engines for $50. Why are your costs so much higher?

Submission is only a very small part of the process, if you submit a poorly optimised site that is set up for the wrong keywords you will achieve next to no traffic, if any. Further, the majority of search engines that generate traffic will no longer accept automated submissions. Indeed automated submissions can cause long-term damage. We do all submissions to the major search engines manually.

Another thing to consider is there are actually only 10 or so resources that you need to be effectively listed in. The majority of search engines will make use of these resources in varying ways.

I get calls offering me money-back guarantees on achieving top 10 listings, should I take advantage of this?

Almost certainly not! There are some reputable companies out there but anybody selling themselves on the basis of guarantees should be questioned heavily. Some of these offers are simply offers to put you in pay-per-click search engines. They make their money by charging you excessive rates for them. Others will meet their guarantees by getting you top 10 listings on obscure phrases that nobody ever searches on (which = no traffic).

The old saying of you get what you pay for is almost correct with these sort of offers. The saying should really be modified to say that you MAY get what you pay for but you certainly won’t get more than what you paid for (except with us of course!).

We do not offer guarantees on listings because what we are interested in is traffic that converts to sales and we let our results speak for themselves. We are not interested in achieving short-term rankings, instead we aim to work with you to deliver a site that will continue to deliver traffic in the long-term.

Will Meta-tags solve my problems?

No, search engine optimisation is not as easy as adding a few words that you want to be found on. We cover this issue and more in our tip about quick fixes or the lack of them!
